An analysis of Corgi's sprint to a $4 billion valuation across three funding rounds in roughly eight weeks, arguing that the value created by such rapid private markups accrues to founders and early investors, potentially leaving little upside for public shareholders if the AI insurance startup eventually lists.

The YC-backed, AI-native insurance carrier for startups reportedly raised its third round in about eight weeks at a $4 billion valuation, after a $160 million Series B at $1.3 billion in early May and a $106 million B1 extension at $2.6 billion weeks later. Corgi, which sells D&O, cyber and liability coverage to startups, is said to be on track for $450 million in annualized revenue.

Corgi, the AI insurance startup known for its demanding seven-day in-office work culture, is raising yet another round at a $4 billion valuation — more than six times what it was worth at its January Series A. Backers of the fast-growing startup insurer include TCV, Y Combinator and Kindred Ventures.
